FUSHIGI Desk: Bare hand interaction with an imaginary book
نویسندگان
چکیده
We introduce a physical media art installation in which the user interacts with virtual characters by turning pages of a physical book. The physical book is placed under a display that shows the characters, a virtual book, and the user's hands. The novelty of the system is in the tight synchronization between the physical book and virtual book and the feedback to the user showing the captured hands on the display.

On the physical interpretation of singularities in Lanczos-Newman electrodynamics
We discuss the physical nature of elementary singularities arising in the complexified Maxwell field extended into complex spacetime, i.e., in Lanczos-Newman electrodynamics. We show that the translation of the world-line of a bare electric-monopole singularity into imaginary space is adding a magnetic-dimonopole component to it, so that it may be interpreted as a pseudo-scalar pion-proton inte...
متن کاملEquivalent Hamiltonian for Lee Model
Using the techniques of quasi-Hermitian quantum mechanics and quantum field theory we use a similarity transformation to construct an equivalent Hermitian Hamiltonian for the Lee model. In the field theory confined to the V/Nθ sector it effectively decouples V , replacing the three-point interaction of the original Lee model by an additional mass term for the V particle and a four-point interac...

متن کاملGestures for your Workplace: Investigating Body Interaction for Everyday Desk Scenarios
We discuss in this paper gesture-based interaction techniques that are appropriate for everyday office desk scenarios for which the constraints of the workspace and the seated position limit the available range of body motions. We are interested in gestures performed by hands and head and highlight our findings with regards to the acquisition and recognition of such gestures using vision techni...
متن کاملDesign of the Bare-Hand Volume Cracker for Analysis of Raw Volumetric Data
The Volume Cracker is a 3D interaction technique designed to allow rapid and intuitive visual analysis of raw volume data. However, the original Volume Cracker design was limited due to cumbersome and expensive hardware and the inability to interact with real volume data. New input devices such as the Leap Motion Controller enable 6-DOF tracking of bare hands and fingers, inspiring us to design...
